About Jason Ham

Originally from South Korea, I was schooled at Westburn Intermediate in Christchurch, then Christchurch Boys’ High School.

Retail & Business Banking
After studying at the University of Canterbury, in 2010 I began my banking career at Westpac NZ in Christchurch – in retail banking. Having always been interested in property investment, I relished this opportunity to further my knowledge.
I was then promoted to the Business Banking team, as a Business Analyst supporting a Business Manager – a role which included credit writing. Next I was given the opportunity to manage the portfolios of high net-worth retail banking clients, as a Personal Manager.

After two years, I became a BNZ Business Acquisition Manager – specialising in home loans and business loans for self-employed clients and start-up business owners new to being self-employed.

Property Finance
My final position at BNZ was Property Finance Partner – managing a $90 million portfolio of commercial developers and investors with significant commercial and residential assets. This included preparing funding proposals for commercial and residential development, and commercial investment.
